Tennessee Toddler Dies Of Blunt Force Traumas, Mother's Boyfriend Charged
A 23-month-old baby died from multiple blunt force traumas in Memphis, Tennessee. The child was taken to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
Investigators spoke with the child’s mother and her boyfriend, Victor Williams, at the scene. The child’s mother said she was notified by Williams that her daughter had been rushed to the hospital and was in critical condition.
Williams said when he saw the child was unresponsive in her play pin, he picked her up, took her to his bed and dialed 911. The 911 operator directed him on how to perform CPR. Williams said he was unaware what happened to the 23-month-old child. The girl's death was reported as a homicide and medical examiner said that multiple blunt force traumas are
The mother said when she woke up for work she said her daughter was asleep. She left Williams at her apartment to watch her 23-month-old and other two children who are around three and five years old. The mother said in the past, one of her sons told her that Williams had punched him in the stomach.
Williams faces several charges including first degree murder, aggravated child abuse and aggravated child neglect.
In another incident that took place last month, a man in Yakima, Washington, was arrested in connection with the death of his girlfriend’s toddler son. An autopsy conducted by the King County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed that the toddler, Alexander Lynch, died from blunt force trauma to the head. The boy had also suffered multiple skull fractures. Lynch’s death was ruled as homicide.
After questioning the toddler’s mother and her boyfriend, the accused was taken into custody. The 27-year-old man, who faces a second-degree murder charge, was being held at the Yakima County jail.
