Kacey Musgraves already had plans to help Tennessee, but the cause for her generosity has changed in light of the state’s recent tornadoes.

As Us Weekly reports, the 31-year-old posted to her Instagram story Tuesday that the money earned from selling her accessories and stage attire via Stage to Closet would go toward relief efforts for Nashville.

“Heartbroken for East Nashville,” she wrote in the post. “I lived on this side of town (in this neighborhood until recently) for years. Many friends are severely affected. Thankful to be ok and thinking of those who aren’t.”

Initially, the earnings were set to go toward an environmental cause as Musgraves initially announced while showing off a two-piece set in an Instagram photo.

She captioned the post: “I’m having a MAJOR CLOSET SALE TONIGHT @stagetocloset. Sooo many of my everyday clothes, shoes, accessories, and performance looks you’ve seen (like this vintage 2 piece set I’m wearing here) are up for grabs and proceeds will help benefit Tennessee urban forest preservation. As Nashville grows, all the animal homes and woodlands keep getting cut away and I want to help preserve that beauty (and clean air!) in my own community. Head to @stagetocloset for all the deets! THANKS!”

The singer also addressed her decision to change the cause for which the money went toward in her story.

“Proceeds of the closet sale I announced yesterday were going to go to TN forest preservation and while that is important to me, the Nashville tornado relief efforts need help first. The sale is still going on today and more things are being added if you want to help,” she continued.

Other stars to be affected by the storms include Carrie Underwood and Reese Witherspoon.

Underwood shared that her husband Mike Fisher had to take their two boys to a safe room in their home during the Tuesday morning tornado. Witherspoon, who is also a Nashville native, shared a post Wednesday detailing how the tragedy has impacted her emotionally.

She wrote: "This morning, a friend said to me, “I can see you are overwhelmed. Just take a moment“ and I started to cry. I just felt so heavy-hearted. There is so much happening... a devastating storm in my hometown of #Nashville, people suffering from mysterious illness, people arguing over political ideology. So much hate and tension and discord. Honestly, this week has been a lot. And it’s only Wednesday. Days, weeks, months like this make me want to crawl in a hole. But my friend offered me a moment. To just feel sad. So I wanted to offer it to you all. A moment or a day or a week. Take what you need. Remember that pain is inevitable. But friends who hold your hand and kids who laugh at silly jokes and sunsets that light up the sky and chocolate chip cookies are very real too. We are in this together. Let’s take care of each other. And remind each other of all the GOOD.”

As USA Today reports, at least 24 people were killed in the tornadoes. Furthermore, 22 individuals remain missing and an overwhelming amount of properties are damaged.
