  • Tesla exceeds its Q4 2019 expected deliveries
  • Its massive Gigafactory 3 in China came alive in the last three months of 2019
  • Tesla exceeds its 2018 deliveries by 50 percent more in 2019

US electric vehicle maker Tesla announced its 2019 fourth-quarter delivery and production numbers, which reveals it exceeded its anticipated number of units delivered. Tesla also delivered around 112 000 electric vehicles in the US and other regions. The company also surpassed its full-year guidance way more than it did in 2018.

Tesla announced that it was able to produce 17,933 Model S and Model X in the fourth semester of last year, according to its announcement posted on its Investor Relations site. It was also able to produce 86,958 Tesla Model 3 units. In the fourth quarter of 2019 alone, the company delivered 19,450 Tesla Model S and Model X along with 92,250 Tesla Model 3.

Tesla achieved a lot of milestones in the fourth quarter of 2019. Its first-ever facility outside the US, the Gigafactory 3, came alive and began production in the fourth quarter of 2019. A recent report from the company revealed that the company was able to achieve its 3,000 vehicles per week target. Gigafactory 3 has also started the local production of a battery pack for its Tesla Made in China Model 3.

“ We continue to focus on expanding production in both the US as well as our newly launched facility in Shanghai,” Tesla said in its Investor Relations site. “Despite breaking ground at Gigafactory Shanghai less than 12 months ago, we have already produced just under 1,000 customer salable cars and have begun deliveries. We have also demonstrated production run-rate capability of greater than 3,000 units per week, excluding local battery pack production, which began in late December,” Tesla added.

But, these achievements come without a lot of sweat, determination, and commitment. Heading towards the end of 2019, Tesla is still pushing deliveries to new customers in the US and other territories. Tesla CEO Elon Musk was at Fremont, California, in New Year’s Eve to help with customer deliveries.

Countless Tesla enthusiasts and owners volunteered to help new owners become more familiar with their electric vehicles. Based on its previous report, Tesla made 97,000 deliveries in the third quarter of 2019. Earlier rumors claimed that the company is going for a new record of 100,000 electric vehicle deliveries.

But, it appears that Tesla delivered 112,000 units in the last three months of 2019. For the rest of the year, the company produced 367,500 electric vehicles, which is 50 percent more than what it was able to deliver in 2018. While it is plausible, it is on the lower end of the company’s original guidance for 2019.
