Texas Triple Murder-Suicide: Mother Fatally Shoots 2 Children, Their Grandmom Before Killing Self

In a horrific incident, a mother killed two of her children and their grandmom before turning the gun to herself in a case of triple murder-suicide. The incident took place Monday in San Antonio, Texas.

Local media said that the bodies were discovered by the father of the two children when he arrived at their apartment complex Monday morning. Police said that the man saw the bodies from a crack in the window. He immediately alerted the police. When authorities arrived at the scene, they found the body of two children, a 5-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, their 38-year-old mother, and the 68-year-old grandmother in two separate bedrooms.

A preliminary investigation shows the woman shot the two children and her mother before killing herself. The woman had recently lost custody of her children.

The father told police that he had been trying to contact the mother for a while before he arrived at the residence. According to him, the mother had not shown any previous signs of violence.

Police are still investigating the shooting. Other details about the incident remain unclear.

In another recent case of murder-suicide in Texas, a 73-year-old man fatally shot a 41-year-old woman before killing himself, the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office said. Local authorities said that the duo was in a relationship for four years. The victims were identified as Lindolfo Meza Sanchez and Bertha Bermudez.

“Investigators learned Sanchez had been in a relationship with Bermudez for about four years and the couple had been living together for eleven months,” the news release states. “A history check on the property and parties involved didn’t show any history of family violence. After the residence was processed, no signs of forced entry or burglary were found.”

Authorities were alerted about the incident from a concerned family member. When they arrived at the residence in the 5400 block of Mountain View Drive in rural Edinburg, they found the two bodies. Autopsies revealed Bermudez died from a gunshot wound to the head and Sanchez also died from a gunshot wound to the head.
