Red Dead Redemption 2
"Red Dead Redemption 2" is one of the best open-world games, but it appears that its PC version will make it a lot better. Rockstar Games

Less than a year after it was officially released, “Red Dead Redemption 2” raked 24 million in sales last May and 25 million in August. The sequel to the popular “Red Dead Redemption” game is finally arriving in PC, giving Rockstar Games more opportunity to increase the sales of the game. The game developer made it clear earlier that “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC is going to be different than the console version, and it has these key features that make it truly a definitive version.

PC Gamer’s Tom Senior visited Rockstar Games recently and got a chance to get his hands on the “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC version. The latest build runs 60 frames at 4K resolution on a combination of medium and high graphics settings. It has enhanced volumetric lighting and improved tessellation, according to Senior.

For the uninitiated, tessellation means a more detailed presentation of objects in the game, such as terrain and even mud. Senior also noticed the smaller touches in the latest version of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” such as longer shadow casts as the sun sets. Kirk McKeand of VG24/7 also visited Rockstar games and was also able to play the “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC version.

The writer claims that the new “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC version has a Photo Mode, which is an actual free camera. It is an impressive feature that allows players to dolly around, pan out, and even take photos of the game. The Photo mode also enables players to identify the exposure, focus distance, contrast, blur, and even allows players to add filters to the screen captures, McKeand notes.

The Photo mode will be available on the “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC version at launch. At this point, it is not yet clear if Rockstar Games will introduce this new mode on the console version of the game, but, hopefully, it will. The PC version also releases with “Red Dead Online” along with the Frontier Pursuits update.

This means “Red Dead Redemption 2” PC players can immediately access the three online roles. We are a few days away from the game’s official release, which is scheduled for Nov. 5, 2019.
