Thomson Reuters hiring U.S. lawyers to strengthen Pangea3 LPO
Business news and financial data provider Thomson Reuters is strengthening its legal process outsourcing (LPO) unit, Pangea3, by hiring full-time, temporary, and experienced contract attorneys for its new facility in Michigan.
The professionals will be part of incoming projects in Ann Arbor, Michigan and will support the company's document review project team on full-time, temporary, and contract basis.
Last November, the company acquired Pangea3, the largest legal outsourcing firm in India, in a deal valued in the range of $35-$40 million. Headquartered in New York City, NY, and Mumbai, India, Pangea3 was founded in 2004 and has since grown to become the largest legal process outsourcing company globally.
According to the listing in job-search website Monster.com, Thomson-Pangea3 is hiring to build multiple document review project teams. We are seeking contract attorney candidates barred in any US jurisdiction with previous document review experience. Pangea3 is hiring in anticipation of establishing a document review facility in Ann Arbor, MI.
The company is hiring lawyers licensed to practice in any US jurisdiction with two years of prior document review experience in anticipation of establishing a document review facility in Ann Arbor, Mich., the job post on Monster.com said.
Another job posting in Craigslist said Pangea3 is looking to hire lawyers for its document review project team in Carrollton, Texas.
Pangea3 plans to open legal process outsourcing centers in the U.S. that mirror those in India. However, details on locations and headcounts are unclear.
As we've mentioned, we see a multishore, 24/7 operating structure as key to supporting Pangea3 customers in all parts of the world. We're working on this now, and will keep you posted as things progress, a company spokesman wrote in an e-mail to ABA Journal, which inquired about the number of lawyers to be staffed at new facility and asked whether any other U.S. facility locations have been planned.
Thomson Reuters, owner of the West legal publishing business, employs 55,000 people and operates in over 100 countries. As many as 8,400 employees are in India and the company has operations in several cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai.
