A TikToker who matched with Matthew Perry on a dating app got candid about her encounter with the "Friends" star.
Kate Haralson was matched with Perry on Raya last May when she was only 19 years old. She shared their private FaceTime call to expose how older men in Hollywood are allegedly "taking advantage" of younger women on dating apps.
"A lot of people were saying I’m a bully and mean for posting this, and it made me feel kind of bad, but at the same time, I feel like a lot of guys in Hollywood are talking to all these young girls and it’s something that I think a lot of people should be aware of," the 20-year-old TikTok user told Page Six Thursday.
Haralson admitted that she was inspired to share the video after she watched Nivine Jay's viral video with Ben Affleck. In the clip, "The Donut Split" star looked upset after rejecting Affleck on Raya thinking it was a fake account only to receive a video from the "Gone Girl" star on Instagram asking her why she unmatched him.
Haralson said many people would take Perry's side because he is a celebrity and that’s okay with her. However, on her part, she only shared it more for the joke of it because she thought it was "more so innocent and harmless." But she made it clear that she is against old men talking to young girls.
"Honestly, it’s not really OK for these older guys to be talking to such young girls," she added.
Haralson said she had matched with other celebrities before, but she does not "ever talk to older guys." However, she chose to speak with Perry because she thought "this would be funny." She admitted that she recognized Perry but "never even really watched 'Friends.'"
While they were on a FaceTime call, Perry suggested that they ask each other questions. They played "20 Questions" and there were no sexual questions brought up during the exchange. However, she felt uncomfortable because she was upfront with him that she was only 19 years old at the time.
"I don’t think he minded that. It kind of felt weird talking to someone my dad’s age and it just felt not right, especially when he knew how young I was," she continued.
At one point, Perry reportedly asked her, "Am I as old as your dad?" Haralson said it was "weird" especially when she told him that he was a year older than her father, and the "17 Again" star just laughed it off.
Haralson took down the video in less than 24 hours because she "did feel a little bit bad." She said Perry was a "nice guy."
Meanwhile, many also slammed Affleck and called him creepy for reaching out to Jay on Instagram after she rejected him on Raya. However, the actress defended the "Batman v Superman" star.
"I'm seeing a lot of comments calling him a creep and l don't think that's fair," Jay told E! News. "l was making fun of myself for thinking he was a catfish and it was just supposed to be funny."
