Timeline: Major Mumbai Blasts Since 1993
Ten people were killed and several wounded in a serial bomb blasts in India's financial hub when three powerful bombs exploded late Wednesday at Opera House in south Mumbai, a temple behind Dadar and the third one at densely populated Zaveri Bazar.
Following is a chronology of some of the major attacks in Mumbai, India since 1993:
March 12, 1993 -- Around 257 people are killed and 713 injured when serial bomb blasts rip the city at 13 places.
Feb. 27, 1998 -- A blast at Virar kills nine people.
July 11, 2006 -- More than 180 people are killed in seven bomb explosions at railway stations and on trains in Mumbai. Islamist militants are blamed.
September 8, 2006 -- At least 32 people are killed in a series of explosions, including one near a mosque, in Malegaon town, 260 km (160 miles) northeast of Mumbai.
Nov 26-29, 2008 -- Coordinated bombing and shooting attacks by 10 gunmen, including on luxury hotels, kill 166 people in Mumbai. India blames the attacks on Pakistan-based militants, and the only surviving gunman says they were members of the group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
Feb 10, 2010 -- At least eight people were killed in a bomb attack on a restaurant popular with tourists in the western Indian city of Pune. Police investigations focus on LeT and the Indian Mujahideen.
July 13, 2011 -- At least 10 people were killed and several wounded in a serial bomb blasts in India's financial hub when three powerful bombs exploded at Opera House in south Mumbai, a temple behind Dadar and the third one at densely populated Zaveri Bazar.
