TLC network sued Jon Gosselin for violating his contract with them by appearing on celebrity news programs.

The reality star from Jon & Kate Plus 8 is being sued for taking money for appearing on Entertainment Tonight, and The Insider where he discussed his struggles with his estranged wife Kate.

The network has been trying privately and patiently for months to get Jon to honor the contract he signed and to comply with his obligations relating to public appearances and statements, TLC said in a statement, according to Reuters.Those efforts have been unsuccessful.

Under the contract Jon Gosselin wasn't supposed to discuss about the show to the media, and TLC states he gave false and disparaging statements about the network and Kate.

Gosselin's lawyer said his client will defend this lawsuit and prove the network exploited his family, Reuters reports.
