Celebrity chef and restaurant owner Todd English, 49 didn't show up at his wedding last Saturday with girlfriend Erika Wang,33 who blames him for causing her, her friends and family, so much pain, the New York Post reports.

The pair were scheduled to marry on Saturday at New York's St Regis in a $150,000 wedding with 150 guests.

An animal wouldn't treat another animal the way he has treated me, Wang told the paper and said she also received a bill from him for over $12,000 to pay for the last charges for the wedding.

English released a statement in reply to what happened saying he was deeply saddened and remorseful for the cancellation of the wedding and any embarrassment that it caused to Erica, the paper said. He also apologized to his family and their friends.

It was never intended this way, but our relationship has not been positive for some time, English added, according to the paper. As sad and painful this has been for me and I am sure for her, we are better off alone rather than together. I wish Erica well.

English said that he had been phisically abused by Wang and claimed that on September 15, she hit him in the face several times with his own watch. He claimed Wang has an explosive temper and both had undergone therapy, the Post said.

English was reportedly seen partying on South Beach the day of the wedding.

The couple had dated for about two years.
