Tom Brady turned 40 years old Thursday, which should be an indication that his career is coming to an end. Six months removed from winning his fifth Super Bowl, however, the New England Patriots’ quarterback has shown no signs of slowing down, having already made more money playing football than almost anyone in history.

Brady’s earned more than $196 million in NFL contracts since he was selected with the 199th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft, putting him behind only Eli Manning for first all time. As much money as Brady has been paid by the Patriots throughout his career, his earnings don’t reflect nearly how valuable he is to the team. Set to make $14 million for the 2017 season, the quarterback’s contract is one of the biggest bargains in football.

The Oakland Raiders gave Derek Carr a new contract in the offseason that will pay him $25 million for the upcoming season.
