Tom Brady Shuts Down Gisele Bündchen Divorce Rumors; Says ‘We’re In A Great Place’
Tom Brady is speaking out amid reports that he and wife Gisele Bündchen are divorcing. Rumors of their allegedly troubled union began swirling in August 2015 after the NFL player found himself the subject of controversy, an event dubbed by many as “deflategate.” Brady, 38, is now breaking his silence about his marriage.
According to Us Weekly, there is no trouble in paradise for the New England Patriots quarterback and Bündchen, 35. In an interview with WEEI Tuesday, Brady told “Dennis & Callahan” listeners that he and his model wife of six years were “in a great place.” Unfortunately, he declined to say any more on the matter.
“I’m a lucky man. I’ve been very blessed with support from my family and certainly her,” he said. “There’s no bigger supporter that I have than her and vice versa. I’ve been very blessed to have an incredible relationship with my life partner. I don’t think anything would ever get in the way of that.”
It was previously reported that Bündchen had consulted with a divorce lawyer. On Sept. 2, Us Weekly reported that things between the couple were “very tense” as a result of Brady’s recent legal and career woes. Similarly OK! Magazine reported that he had a tendency to be “nasty and cold.” The publication reported that Brady chose to focus on work rather than his marriage, adding that there had “been a lot of stress in their marriage in the last year.”
“Deflategate,” for one, resulted in Brady being suspended from four games without pay after Ted Wells, an NFL investigator, found that the pro-footballer was “at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities” the New England Patriots were engaging in. Some of those activities included allegedly deflating footballs in an effort to help them win the AFC championship game in early 2015. Fortunately for Brady and the Patriots, that ruling has since been overturned.
Bündchen, for her part, has remained silent about their relationship.
