Galaxy S 2 was announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February and since then the phone has continued its march. Galaxy S 2, which is expected to release on July 24 in the U.S. and will be tied up with Verizon, is already outselling iPhone 4 in the UK market. Will it repeat the feat in the U.S. market?
Samsung Galaxy S 2 embodies most of the rumored iPhone 5 hardware upgrades. The phone is super-thin measuring merely 0.33-inch in thickness and weighs about 4 ounces. These specifications beat iPhone 4's vital statistics as the Apple smartphone weighs 4.8 ounces and is 0.38-inch thick.
Galaxy S 2 features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED screen with 800x480 screen resolution. It is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz Orion chipset. The phone comes in 16/32GB internal memory configuration with 1GB RAM. Galaxy S 2 sports an 8MP rear-facing camera with 1080p video capture capability and also has an additional 2 MP front-facing camera for video chat.

Rumors about Google's pure Android Ice Cream Sandwich version phone Nexus 4G started swirling the web last month. The phone is touted to be an "absolute beast". It is expected to feature a 1.5GHz Snapdragon chip and will feature a monster-sized display without menu buttons, which are usually found in Android devices.It will have a 5MP rear-facing camera which will deliver superior low-light performance and will also feature a 1MP front-facing camera. Nexus 4G will offer 1080p video capture and playback capability. It is further rumored that the Nexus 4G will feature a 4G LTE radio, and 1GB of RAM. Nexus 4G is expected to be released just after Apple releases the iPhone 5 in September at the iPod refresh event.

HTC myTouch 4G Slide which will run on T-Mobile network, offers support for T-Mobiles HSPA+ 4G network (as the name suggests). The myTouch boasts of impressive specs like Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS and HTC Sense 3.0, dual-core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 3.7-inch WVGA LCD display (800x480 pixel resolution), 8-megapixel camera with 1080p video recording, front-facing VGA camera for video chat, SWYPE support, in-built 8GB with microSD (expandable to 32GB), slide-out Qwerty keyboard and pre-installed Netflix software.More details on myTouch 4G are unavailable at the moment but T-Mobile promises that it is the "new best-in-class smartphone that allows our customers to leave their cameras at home." The myTouch 4G Slide is poised for release in July and will be available in 2 colors - black and khaki. It is expected to retail for $199.99 with a 2-year contract.

The HTC Blast is a concept phone which reared its head in May. The phone sports a button less design with Hand Power technology to turn the phone on without using any button. The virtual buttons are hidden in landscape mode.HTC Blast has a 4.7-inch AMOLED screen with 1280x720 resolution. It is rumored to have a 12 MP rear-facing camera and a 3MP front-facing camera. It is powered by a beastly 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 processor.It has 1GB RAM with 32GB internal memory. HTC Blast weighs 5.82 oz and is 0.35-inch thick. It will feature Android 3.0 or Honeycomb. However, HTC Blast is a concept phone and it's not certain as to whether HTC will release this model.

Samsung Hercules is a rumored phone which first came into spotlight in May. It is surmised to be a $350 phone with a blazing fast dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ8060 processor, the same chip which powers the recently released HP TouchPad.The phone is expected to don an 8MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash. The camera has 1080p video capture capability. The phone will feature a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display with 800x480 screen resolution. The phone is 0.35-inch thick and will run on Android 2.3 or Gingerbread juice. It offers 1GB RAM and 16GB flash storage.
