Top Travel Destinations 2017: Best Places To Visit Around The World, According To Kayak Travel Hacker Guide
Your idea or choice of the best holiday destinations in the world could differ considerably from the person sitting right next to you. Of course, it all depends on what you desire from a holiday, which could range from soaking in the sun to dancing in the desert, or standing clumsily before Giotto's candlelit frescoes in Assisi to exploring rainforests in search of the indigenous tribe that has never before set eyes on an outsider.
However, certain places in the world are so extraordinarily brilliant, so indisputably incredible, that it would take tremendous effort to not love them. And if you can't make up your mind, help is at hand. Travel website kayak.com released its 2017 Travel Hacker Guide Thursday which lists top holiday destinations, sorted by various categories.
Las Vegas tops the list of most popular domestic destinations for 2017, given its risque nightlife and glamorous casino resorts that draw travelers from all around the world. New York City takes second place as one of the world's most popular vacation destinations because you can visit it at any time of the year and there are countless activities for people with all sorts of interests.
When it comes to sand and the sun vacations, Maui in Hawaii takes the top spot among global beach destinations. However, this list is dominated by Asia, from where five different destinations, including Thailand, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Japan and Maldives, make it to the top 10.
The list of the most popular family destinations features a number of U.S. cities, with Orlando, Florida, on top. Honolulu and Los Angeles follow, while London and Cancun, Mexico, round up the top five.
The trendiest places to visit in 2017, however, are topped off by Havana. Since relations with Cuba have recently improved, the capital city is seeing a rush of tourists. Other places in this list are Reykjavik, Auckland, Tokyo and Bali, Indonesia.
