Gamers Spending More Time and Money on Free-to-Play MMOs

In 2011, U.S. gamers have spent an estimated $1.2 billion on F2P games, which have taken up to 47 percent of all MMO expenditures. It has grown 24 percent in the last year, now seriously contending with pay-to-play MMOs like World of Warcraft for players' attention. The report says gamers spend about 26 million hours every day playing MMOs in the U.S.

CBS is taking aim at a television classic.The network is rebooting the Chuck Connors series The Rifleman, the late-1950s ABC Western about Civil War vet and widower Lucas McCain, who takes his son and his hot-rodded Winchester rifle and settles in the New Mexico territory of North Fork, an individual familiar with the project confirms to TheWrap.

In Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, a local blogger was allegedly tortured and then murdered in retaliation for posting comments about local drug cartels. The decapitated body of El Rascatripas, as he was known online, was found lying on the street near a statue of Christopher Columbus, about one mile from the Texas border.
