For Amazon, Kindle book sales surpass print

Amazon.com now sells more Kindle books than print books, the company announced today. Since April 1, Amazon has sold 105 Kindle books for every 100 print books. The company does not release total sales figures for Kindle books or e-readers.

Next Issue Media previews digital newsstand

Next Issue Media, a joint venture in digital publishing, finally unveiled its digital newsstand, albeit an early edition of a product that the company has yet to complete. The newsstand is expected to launch Wednesday as a preview on Samsung’s Galaxy Tab from Verizon Wireless. The Galaxy Tab uses Google’s Android mobile operating system.
