‘Toying With The Holidays’ Lifetime Movie Premiere: Trailer, Cast, Synopsis
Lifetime’s “It’s A Wonderful Lifetime” programming event continues tonight with the premiere of “Toying With the Holidays,” starring Chad Michael Murray and Cindy Busby.
The film will be a special holiday treat for fans, as they are likely familiar with both Murray and Busby, who have both starred in Lifetime films before, but are also well-known for other projects. Murray, still well-known for his role as Lucas Scott on “One Tree Hill,” starred in 2020’s Lifetime film “Too Close for Christmas.” He has also been a familiar face on Hallmark, starring in that network’s “Road to Christmas,” “Write Before Christmas,” “Love in Winterland” and “Sand Dollar Cove” in recent years.
As for Busby, she has starred in Lifetime’s “My Husband’s Killer Girlfriend,” “The Wrong Stepmother,” “My Mom’s Letter from Heaven” and “The Killer Downstairs.” On Hallmark, she has been a staple, starring in recent years in “Unleashing Mr. Darcy,” “Royal Hearts,” “Marrying Mr. Darcy,” “Wedding March 5: My Boyfriend’s Back,” “A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love,” “Love in the Forecast,” “Romance in the Air,” “Hearts Down Under” and “Chasing Waterfalls.”
So what can fans expect in this film? Let’s find out.
“Workaholic designer Danielle (Busby) returns to her hometown of Holly Pines for the holidays with her young son Paul with hopes to introduce him to some beloved holiday traditions, in particular the town’s North Pole express train,” a synopsis reads. “Once home, she discovers the North Pole Express has been sidelined.”
Danielle becomes desperate to bring the tradition back for her son to experience it, which forces her to team up with someone she never expected—and finds herself questioning if she should be returning to her hometown for good.
“Determined to help, Danielle reconnects with her former high school classmate Kevin (Murray), now a hobbyist and model train enthusiast himself,” the synopsis continues. “Together, Danielle and Kevin attempt to pull off a Christmas miracle that would get the old North Pole Express running—and quite possibly give Danielle many reasons, one of them romantic, to consider staying in Holly Pines for good.”
“Toying With the Holidays” airs Saturday at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
