  • Manchester City joins the race for the services of Alexandre Lacazette
  • Lacazette is seen as a perfect fit for the Sky Blues because of his flexibility
  • Juventus may go after Lacazette this coming January

Another team has allegedly joined the race for Alexandre Lacazette of Arsenal once the French player’s deal expires after this season.

The latest club to join the list is Manchester City, a squad that could make sense for the 30-year-old forward.

The Sky Blues have curiously joined the wild chase for Lacazette, according to a report by Fichajes.

The 30-year-old has been struggling to find his mark at the Emirates Stadium, and all signs point to an exit once his existing expires.

It should also be noted that Lacazette has opted not to extend his contract with the Gunners after this season.

Hence, such has spurred a growing interest in his services with Manchester City being the latest team to get linked to the French footballer.

His qualities are deemed suited for Pep Guardiola’s system. The fact that he is flexible and able to adapt to any position also makes him an ideal player that can link up with other Manchester City stalwarts.

So far, Lacazette has scored 68 times and assisted 29 times in 179 appearances for the Gunners.

However, his inconsistent play has resulted in him getting less playing time under the watch of Mikel Arteta.

Beyond that, Lacazette carries a well-decorated resume that includes five years of English Premier League experience.

With the chance to scoop Lacazette up for free, Guardiola is speculated to try and sway management to look into a possible deal at the end of the current season.

However, doing so will not be easy considering there are other teams hot on the French forward’s trail.

Among the teams who have been linked to Alexandre Lacazette include West Ham United, Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Newcastle United.

In a previous report here on IBTimes, it was mentioned how some teams could try and acquire Lacazette as early as the January transfer window.

Juventus was mentioned as one of those teams with journalist Ekrem Konur claiming that Arsenal may accept a deal for Lacazette “if an offer comes in at around €15 million ($17.6 million).”
