KEY POINTS

  • Liverpool are 25 points clear on the top of the Premier League
  • The Reds need a maximum of two wins to seal the title race
  • The summer transfer window is 11 weeks away

Even though the Premier League has been suspended until April 3 due to the coronavirus outbreak, the clubs must be busy planning for the upcoming summer transfer window.

Irrespective of the result of the Premier League 2019-20 season, there are just 11 weeks left until the summer transfer window gets wide open for business. Liverpool FC, who are 25 points clear on the top of the table, need a maximum of just two wins to finally win their first Premier League title in as many as 30 years.

While the club has been tight-lipped about their transfer strategy, here are the four stars who could be on their way out from Anfield after the end of the current season:

Xherdan Shaqiri

Shaqiri, who has made just two Premier League starts this season, was wanted by the likes of Seville and Roma during the January transfer window. Various injuries have restricted his movement this season but the Swiss man is expected to attract more clubs in the upcoming summer window.

Liverpool reportedly revealed that bidding for the midfielder is open at $30 million.

Adam Lallana

It is known that the Englishman, who is into the final few months of his Liverpool contract, is not going to renew his contract and will be a free agent at the summer transfer window. Soon to be 32, Lallana has been a great asset for the Reds since he moved to Anfield from Southampton for $30 million in 2014.

The midfielder is understood to have decided to move to another club in search of more regular soccer, something Liverpool has not been able to offer him. He will leave the club as a Champions League winner and in all likeliness, a Premier League champion too.

Nathaniel Clyne

The 28-year-old right-back will be a free agent at the end of the current season and will hope to find a deal in the upcoming summer transfer window. Last year in January, the former Southampton defender went to Bournemouth on loan. While a permanent deal failed to happen, he sustained a knee injury last summer.

While he has resumed full training, he wants to move to another club and leave a difficult couple of years and move forward following the summer.

Dejan Lovren

The Croatian center-back has made just nine starts in the Premier League this season and is behind Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk in the hierarchy. Joel Matip has regained full fitness and that has only added to Lovren’s starting woes.

In fact, Liverpool were in talks with Roma last August in regards to Lovren’s trade but the negotiating process took way too long and that irked The Reds, who eventually decided to keep Lovren.
