Tristan Thompson has made a fortune playing in the NBA since 2011.
The 30-year-old Canadian athlete, who is currently playing for the Sacramento Kings, has an estimated net worth of $45 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Between the 2011-12 NBA season and the 2021-22 season, Thompson earned $115.91 million in salary, according to Spotrac.
Thompson was drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2011 NBA Draft. He was the highest-drafted Canadian-born player in NBA history until Anthony Bennett was selected first pick overall two years later.
Thompson played for the Cavaliers from 2011 until 2020. He earned nearly $3 million in his rookie year, but he was receiving an annual salary between $14 million and $17 million in his last five seasons with the team.
In November 2020, after spending nine seasons of his NBA career in Cleveland, the free-agent center signed a two-year, $19 million contract with the Boston Celtics. The basketball player reportedly earned $9 million during the 2020-21 season.
Last year, the Sacramento Kings acquired Thompson from the Celtics as part of a three-team trade that sent guard Delon Wright to the Atlanta Hawks. Thompson reportedly earned $9.7 million for the current NBA season.
While most of his earnings comes from his basketball salary, Thompson also had endorsement deals with a number of brands and companies, including Beats by Dre, Compex, Moet & Chandon, Mountain Dew and Nike, according to Sportskeeda and Clutchpoints. He also had a deal with Canadian restaurant chain Tim Hortons, ESPN reported in 2015.
Outside the NBA, Thompson became famous after making several appearances on the reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” throughout his relationship with now-ex-girlfriend Khloe Kardashian.
The basketball star, who shares 3-year-old daughter True with Kardashian, also became known for his history of cheating scandals.
He was accused of cheating on Kardashian with several women, including Kardashian family friend Jordyn Woods, while the Good American founder was pregnant and after she gave birth to their daughter in 2018.
Thompson and Kardashian split in February 2019 after the former was caught cheating with Woods, but they rekindled their romance more than a year later during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, in June 2021, they announced that they had called it quits again.
Just this week, Thompson confirmed that he is the father of Maralee Nichols' newborn son, citing a paternity test. The two had a relationship while Thompson was still with Kardashian last year.
Nichols reportedly sued Thompson for child support and claimed he tried to pay her $75,000 to keep quiet about the baby.
However, the NBA star said in a recent statement on his Instagram Stories that he takes "full responsibility" and plans to "amicably" raise his son with Nichols.
The baby is Thompson’s third known child. In December 2016, Thompson welcomed a baby boy with his ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig, whom he dated before Kardashian.
