‘True Blood’ Season 7 Spoilers: Sneak Peek Video Of Episode 8 Previews A Different Hoyt
Hoyt may be back on “True Blood,” but he’s not the same country boy that viewers met in Season 1 in 2008. A sneak peek video from episode 8, “Almost Home,” gives fans a look at the old Hoyt … and the man he has now become in the seventh and final season of the HBO series.
The sneak peek video previews a sit down between Hoyt, Jason and Brigette. Hoyt made his return to Bon Temps in episode 7 with Brigette, his new girlfriend he met while working in Alaska. The trio appears to be sitting in the house of Hoyt’s mother, Maxine Fortenberry, who was killed earlier in Season 7 by Jason’s then girlfriend, Violet.
As Hoyt packs up some belongings from his old family home, Jason can be seen sitting next to Brigette while she looks through a photo album with pictures from Hoyt’s childhood.
“Hoyt Fortenberry, look at you in your Bon Temp football jersey,” Brigette says affectionately while flipping through the book.
But Hoyt is in no mood to deal with his girlfriend.
“Three years and I never got off the bench,” he counters, taking a swig of whiskey.
As Brigette continues to look through his baby photos, she casually makes a comment about hoping their children have his nose. And while it seemed like an innocent enough statement, it was enough to push Hoyt over the edge. Watch the awkward exchange below as Hoyt displays a less than pleasant attitude with his new girlfriend:
“Truebies” will remember that Hoyt left for Alaska at the end of Season 5 after a falling out with Jason. The youngest Stackhouse ruined their long time friendship after he hooked up with Hoyt’s ex-girlfriend, Jessica. Heartbroken and unable to move on, Hoyt asked Jessica to glamour him and wipe his memory clean of the dramatic past few months.
He returned to Bon Temps in episode 7 of “True Blood” after receiving a phone call from Jason about his mother’s death. But due to the glamouring, Hoyt had no memory of his old friend.
Episode 8 will continue to explore the pair as Jason tries to hide his secret from Hoyt … while crushing on Brigette. Meanwhile viewers can look forward to a lot more juicy (and bloody) drama as the final season winds down. In “Almost Home” Eric will reconsider his “end-game strategies” with Sarah Newlin; Lettie Mae and Lafayette will continue their V-fueled search for Tara; Violet will look for payback; and Sookie will put her life at risk in an attempt to save Bill.
“True Blood” episode 8 will air on HBO on Sunday, Aug. 10 at 9 p.m. EDT. Are you happy that Hoyt is back? Tweet your thoughts to @AmandaTVScoop.
