tvOS 14 Tip: How To Use Picture In Picture Feature

Apple users who are hoping to see Picture in Picture on iDevices other than iPhones will be glad to know that the feature can also be used on an Apple TV running tvOS 14.

The Picture in Picture feature in iOS 14 allows iPhone users to perform tasks on their devices while still being able to watch videos from a small window in the corner of the screen. The feature lets users search on Safari, read messages, look for files on the device and more while a video of a show they're watching is playing on the screen.

For tvOS 14, Picture in Picture will let users do certain things like listening to the news while checking shows on Netflix, playing that cooking show on YouTube while checking what's being shown on other channels and so on.

Using Picture in Picture in tvOS 14 is easy. Here's how:

• First, users will first need to open the Apple TV app.
• Second, once the app is running, users will need to look for an Apple TV show or movie, then play it.
• Third, when the show or movie starts, users should rest a finger on the Siri remote's touch surface area. A timeline showing how far users are in the video will be shown on the screen.
• Fourth, once that timeline appears, users should look for a Picture in Picture icon above it. Users should swipe up to highlight this icon and click on it using the Siri remote.

Users should take note that there are some apps that currently do not offer support for the feature. If the Picture in Picture icon appears above the timeline (as mentioned above), it means the feature can be used for that app. But if the icon isn't visible, then that means the feature isn't supported by the app in use.

Those who are able to activate Picture in Picture will see the video being played become minimized into a small rectangular box located at the bottom-right corner of the screen. Pressing the Home button provides users with controls on using the feature.
