Ellen DeGeneres’ brother came out in support of his sister and slammed all the people who have been accusing the famous talk show host of encouraging a “toxic” workplace culture on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.” However, his statement did not sit well with the social media users who immediately criticized him for supporting the host amid the controversy.

Vance DeGeneres posted an update on his official Twitter account saying that his sister has been a “bright light” in this dark world. He also noted that Ellen is one of the “kindest” and most “generous” people out there.

“If you think Ellen would knowingly allow bullying or racism on her show, you don’t know my sister. She has been and continues to be a bright light in a dark world. She’s one of the kindest, most generous people you’ll ever meet. And one of the funniest,” Vance wrote on Twitter.

Netizens were not impressed by his statement and slammed Vance for downplaying the accusations that have been made by various former employees and some celebrities.

“It's about how she treats those who aren't famous/wealthy or ‘necessary’ to her (i.e., those she feels are not her equal). YOUR experiences with her are not the same so don't dismiss what others have gone through. The truth hurts sometimes. Face it, she's not really nice,” one commented.

“The simple fact of the matter is this, it's her show, she's the captain of the ship and as the captain everything that happens IS her responsibility, if you don't or can't, step down, if you are a true boss, correct the issues and be better period,” another user commented.

“The toxicity & horrible treatment of Ellen's employees & interns is a well-known industry ‘secret’ for years. Publicists & insiders have known about it. It's a reckoning a long time in the making. You're not one of her employees so doubt your take as a loving brother applies,” @Happyjam5 wrote.

“Except you don't have to work for her or deal with her ‘in the wild.’ Unless that was her evil twin at the Daytime Emmys back in the day,” @RONTHINKblog wrote on the micro-blogging website.

Amid the backlash, many also supported the talk show host. They appreciated how she always helped people on her show.

“I am angry that people are automatically commenting as though she were guilty. I am angry that people are saying she is only nice to other celebrities. Have you ever watched her show? She is always helping out regular people every day. Innocent until proven guilty!” one netizen wrote.

“Ellen is an amazing person you bring joy into people's life every day. Ellen is a kind loving heart and she makes the world a better place,” another user added.

As previously reported, several former employees came forward and spoke about the pernicious workplace culture on the show . Hedda Muskat and Tony Okungbowa, who have previously worked on the show, recently confirmed that they witnessed and felt the negativity while working with the popular TV personality.

Warner Bros. is currently investigating the matter.
