  • Tony Okungbowa, a former employee of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show," felt that there was definitely a level of "toxicity" there
  • Okungbowa worked on the show for more than 9 years as a resident DJ
  • He also came in support of the employees who disclosed their stories about the show’s working environment

Just 24 hours after Hedda Muskat, a former producer of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” opened up about the “toxic” workplace on the show, one more former employee has come forward to reveal that he also “felt” a lot of negativity while working with the talk show host.

Tony Okungbowa, an actor and DJ who worked on the show as a resident DJ, opened up about his experiences on the set of the talk show and revealed that he also “felt” the toxic environment when he was still part of it. Okungbowa worked on the show from 2003-2006 and 2007-2013.

He expressed gratitude toward the talk show host for allowing him to showcase his talents. However, he admitted that he “did experience” and felt the toxicity of the working environment during his time as the show’s DJ.

“I have been getting calls asking me about the ‘Ellen Degeneres Show’ and I would like to address the time I spent there. I was on-air talent from 2003-2006 and from 2007-2013. While I am grateful for the opportunity it afforded me, I did experience and feel the toxicity of the environment,” Okungbowa wrote on Instagram.

The “Where Is Kyra?” star also supported his fellow employees who have come forward in detailing how badly they were treated on the show.

“I stand with my former colleagues in their quest to create a healthier and more inclusive workplace as the show moves forward,” Okungbowa wrote.

Muskat previously said something similar about her time on the show. She claimed that the talk show host did nothing for the staff and giggled after knowing that Ed Glavin screamed at one of the workers. According to Muskat, the whole office at the time realized that Glavin would be Ellen’s "dog" after the incident.

“She crossed her legs up on the chair and she said, ‘Well, I guess every production needs their dog. And from then we knew. Ed was going to be the barking dog – her dog. You could just see everybody’s faces go stiff. We are professionals; we are adults. We don’t need a dog to get us to do our jobs. She was the only one giggling,” Muskat told The Wrap.

However, a lot of celebrities like Katy Perry, Kevin Hart, Jerry O’Connell, Diane Keaton, and more have come out in support of DeGeneres and said that the talk show host is one of the nicest human beings that they have ever met.
