Two New Drake Songs That Could Be Off ‘Views From The 6’ Leak Online [LISTEN]
Drake could be “looking for revenge” after two new tracks by the “Summer Sixteen” rapper were leaked online. The songs are believed to be on the highly anticipated album “Views From the 6,” but were quickly taken off Soundcloud and YouTube Tuesday morning.
One of the songs is “These Days,” and the other is “Controlla,” featuring Popcaan. “Controlla” sounds like it could be part two of Rihanna’s single “Work,” on which Drake was featured. Meanwhile, “These Days” is a step away from most of the music Drake has released recently. The “Hotline Bling” rapper put out two mixtapes in the past year, “If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late” and “What a Time to Be Alive,” which were both heavy on hip-hop. “These Days” is basically a ballad with Drake singing throughout the entire track. You can hear the songs here.
It’s unclear whether both of the tracks will be on “Views From the 6” or Drake will now choose to leave them off following the leak. To date, the 29-year-old rapper has officially released just one single off the album expected to drop next month. “Summer Sixteen” made its debut in January. You can listen to it below:
The official release date of “Views From the 6” has yet to be announced, but Drake did say it would be out in April. However, a recent lawsuit filed by Lil Wayne against Universal Music Group could affect when the album is released because Drake is a part of the Young Money label whose contract with Cash Money Records expired in June 2015.
This month, Drake teased that he was getting close to completing his latest album in a series on Instagram posts showing photographs of the studio with the caption, “Home Stretch.” The tracklist for the album has also yet to be released, but it’s possible some of his singles such as “Back to Back” and “Hotline Bling” could find their way onto the new record.
