The "Avatar" game is still in the works according to the official account of "Avatar." Ubisoft

“ Avatar 2” is on its way to a cinematic release in Dec. 2021 and will be trailed by “Avatar 3” and “Avatar 4.” Aside from the much-awaited movie, it was announced in 2017 that Ubisoft Massive was working on the “Avatar” game using its Snowdrop engine. Fortunately, we have received the latest status of the game from the horse’s mouth.

It has already been a couple of years since the announcement of the new “Avatar” game. Following the announcement, we have not heard anything from the officials or from the game developer. This led some fans to speculate that the game was dropped or canceled or scrapped.

But, the official twitter account of “Avatar” recently gave us the status of the “Avatar” game, which is still in the works. The official Twitter account was asked by one of its followers who would like to know if the “Avatar” game is still in the works. The account confirmed that the game is coming, but there is nothing more to it than just a confirmation.

It can be recalled that Ubisoft previously stated that the “Avatar” game would be available sometime in 2021 fiscal, which is equivalent to Apr. 2020. However, Ubisoft’s statement was made over a year ago, and since then, the name “Avatar” game has never been mentioned. Maybe the game development is similar to its movie sequels, which takes a lot of time; at least it was not canceled.

For the uninitiated, Ubisoft Massive Entertainment is the team behind “The Division” series. It is currently the team in charge of developing the “Avatar” game. The team will reportedly work with FoxNext Games and Lightstorm Entertainment to develop a revolutionary game.

The new “Avatar” game will be set on the beautiful but dangerous moon from the popular “Avatar” movie franchise. To be able to deliver the wonders of Pandora to gamers, the team will utilize the Snowdrop Engine. If the game is anticipated to arrive in 2020 or 2021, does this mean it is releasing on next-generation gaming consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett?

Both Microsoft and Sony earlier announced the arrival of their next-generation gaming consoles in the holiday of 2020, the same year that the new “Avatar” game is pitted to release.
