  • Summer Tapasa-Sataraka is hired by UFC as a corporate security guard
  • Tapasa-Sataraka foiled a shoplifting attempt in Hawaii
  • The female guard is thankful for being rewarded and hopes to prove her worth

Summer Tapasa-Sataraka got an unusual reward for foiling a shoplifting attempt last December at a Best Buy store.

The altercation went viral, and one of those who saw it was UFC president Dana White.

In the video which can be seen below, Tapasa-Sataraka could be seen stopping an alleged thief who was walking out of the Best Buy store over in Hawaii.

After watching the video, White said that he wanted the female security guard to work for him.

"This is Summer Tapasa Sataraka. She stopped this punk from getting away with stealing from Best Buy in Hawaii," White said on his Instagram post. "I want her to work for me! Get ready for the best weekend of your life, Summer."

In the post, White said that Tapasa-Sataraka was fired for the incident. However, the 24-year-old cleared the air and said that she already had plans of leaving the store even before the incident.

Hence, Tapasa-Sataraka holds no ill-feelings when she left the electronics retailer.

Also, it would be best to note that Tapasa-Sataraka has been monitoring the suspect. In a post that she tweeted on Dec. 24, 2019, she explained that the man got away the first time he stole from the retailer.

Unfortunately for the shoplifter, the 24-year-old was ready this time.

"Why did I do it? Because this his second time. The first time, he got away. I was a customer and I saw that shit happen. This time around, he tried it. I saw him run. Not today," her tweet read.

Her courageous effort was amply rewarded, and Tapasa-Satakara unexpectedly got a big promotion for foiling and surveilling that person.

Looking ahead, she gets a chance to expand her career and possibly move up.

The video of Tapasa-Sataraka tangling with the male shoplifter garnered over six million views.

Of those views, only one was needed to reward her–something that is perhaps more than she bargained for.
