Ukraine Army Attacks Russian Equipment, Manpower Hub Injuring 130 Soldiers

Ukrainian forces successfully targeted several areas where Russian soldiers and equipment were concentrated, injuring more than 130 of Moscow's troops, according to a report.

Ukrainian forces targeted Russian concentrations in the settlements of Polohy, Vasylivka and Kamianka-Dniprovska in the temporarily occupied region of Zaporizhzhia. The attack, which happened on Dec. 18, resulted in more than 130 wounded Russian soldiers and up to 10 units of weapons and military equipment destroyed, according to a report posted on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (UAF).

"The enemy continues to suffer losses. On December 18, it was confirmed that units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine fired at areas where the enemy's manpower and equipment were concentrated in the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. In particular, in the areas of the settlements of Polohy, Vasylivka and Kamianka-Dniprovska," the report read.

"The losses of the enemy are more than 130 wounded occupiers, and up to 10 units of weapons and military equipment of various types were destroyed. Information about the dead invaders is being clarified."

The UAF General Staff also said that Ukrainian forces carried out at least 10 strikes on Russian areas of concentration of troops, weapons and military equipment Tuesday. At least 12 other strikes targeted the positions of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems. It is unclear whether there were any casualties in the attack.

Since the start of the invasion of Ukraine in February, more than 99,230 Russian soldiers have been killed, including 430 deaths reported over the past day, as per estimates from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The deaths include the majority of the 200th Separate Motor Rifle Brigade, a unit of elite Russian fighters who were among the first to plunge into the war in February. The brigade was sent to the war with better training and newer equipment than other Russian soldiers, according to The Washington Post.

Additionally, Moscow has lost a total of 2,995 tanks, 5,974 combat armored machines, 1,960 artillery systems and 4,599 vehicles and fuel tanks, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine said.
