The upcoming PC port for Naughty Dog’s hit action-adventure series “Uncharted” has been uploaded to the Steam database, with the game’s official store page now available for all fans to see.
“Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves” is a collection containing the two latest games in the series, namely “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” and its standalone expansion, “Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.” The collection is slated for a 2022 release window, but the exact date and system requirements have not yet been specified.
The “Uncharted” series has been a mainstay in PlayStation’s catalog of games ever since the release of the first game for the PS3 back in 2007. “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” spawned three sequels, three spin-offs, a remaster collection for the original trilogy and even a fan-made short film directed by Allan Ungar with Nathan Fillion taking on the lead role.
Rumors of an “Uncharted” game PC port previously ran rampant across the internet when “Horizon Zero Dawn’s” PC port for Steam was revealed earlier this year. Such rumors have since been confirmed following a post on the PS Blog back in September in which Naughty Dog senior communications manager Rochelle Snyder made a formal announcement.
“Legacy of Thieves” will be released for both PC and PS5 early next year, although the PS5 version is scheduled to launch first with the PC version set to go live a little later, Snyder said in the post.
The “Uncharted” games combine third-person shooter combat with platforming and action movie-like set piece moments. Throughout the series, players will mostly play the role of Nathan Drake, a thief-turned-treasure hunter, as they try to uncover legendary lost cities in search of vast fortunes in unforgettable, story-driven adventures.
Gameplay-wise, players can expect the traditional third-person shooter scheme of cover-based combat mixed in highly-cinematic encounters. When not in a gunfight, players get to explore intricately-woven areas using Drake’s parkour and acrobatic abilities to jump, slide and scale through the environment.
“Uncharted 4” will wrap up Nathan Drake’s story, while “The Lost Legacy” will put players in control of Chloe Frazer, a professional thief-for-hire and a close friend of Nathan, as they try to hunt for legendary artifacts deep within the mountains of India.
