'This Is Us'' Alexandra Breckenridge Scared Of 'Getting Fired' Due To Pregnancy
Alexandra Breckenridge admitted that she had been terrified of announcing her pregnancy to her bosses.
The "This Is Us" star confessed that she was afraid her pregnancy would cause an issue and get her fired from her acting gig. "I was like, 'I'm gonna get fired,'" Breckenridge told Us Weekly on Saturday. "I was scared to tell them because I thought it would cause issues for production."
But when she opened up her concern, she found out that her fears were unfounded. "This Is Us" creator Dan Fogelman turned out to be supportive of her pregnancy. "I called Dan and said, 'I'm sorry. I'm pregnant,'" Breckenridge recalled of how she told Fogelman that she's expecting. "He was just like, 'Oh, that's amazing! Congratulations!' He's so nice."
Meanwhile, Breckenridge's on-screen partner, Justin Hartley, was also very happy for her. "Justin's been very sweet. He has a daughter," Breckenridge said of her co-star.
On Monday, Breckenridge announced that she will be endorsing a stretch mark cream on Instagram. "Excited to be the new 'belly' for Palmers New cocoa butter formula! #palmerscocoabutter," she wrote in the caption.
The "American Horror Story" actress is only a few weeks away from her due date and she is very excited to welcome her first baby girl. "I'm so excited for that newborn experience again," Breckenridge told People during her shoot for Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Enhanced Stretch Mark products. "They're so sweet and so precious!"
According to Breckenridge, she learned about the gender of her baby on her birthday. For her, it was the best present she could have gotten for her special day. "I found out I was having a girl on my birthday," she shared. "My doctor called and I said, 'This is the best birthday present ever!' I really wanted to have a girl."
Breckenridge and her husband, Casey Neil Hooper, are already parents to 14-month-old Jack Breckenridge Hooper. Their tot just turned 1 year old on Sept. 3. For her first child, the "Walking Dead" alum had a natural water birth delivery at a local hospital, where she had been supported by a team of midwives and a doula.
It is definitely no surprise then that Breckenridge is a water birth advocate. "I had the benefit of being surrounded by experienced, loving women, while being overseen by medical staff, just in case," she told People. "Luckily, everything went beautifully and no interventions were needed. I couldn't be happier with the experience. I'm definitely an advocate for water birth if you choose to go natural."
