‘V Rising’ Guide: How To Craft Explosives

As powerful as vampires might be in the world of “V Rising,” there are some things that can’t be destroyed with might or magic alone. Large gates, castle walls and large ore deposits will all need to be brought down with the power of gunpowder.

Certain enemy types use explosives to keep players on their toes while in combat. However, players can use explosives once they get the proper crafting recipes.

To craft explosives, players will first need to unlock the Alchemy Table. The blueprints for this crafting station can be learned by defeating Clive the Firestarter inside the Bandit Sulphur Camp at the western edge of the Farbane Woods.

Clive is a Level 30 boss, and he’ll be unlike any other enemy up until that point. Instead of actively engaging the player, Clive will throw bombs before running or dodging away. He isn’t difficult to fight, but he is very annoying to catch.

Make sure to have plenty of time to fight Clive and his minions, or else players might find themselves caught in the sunlight should they fail to do enough damage. Bring a full set of Merciless gear and use quick-firing magic or skills with the Snare effect to slow Clive down.

Once the boss is dead, players should get the Veil of Chaos dodge power and the Alchemy Table recipe.

After placing an Alchemy Table, it should come with the recipe for Minor Explosive Box unlocked, which requires the following:

• 8x Sulphur
• 8x Planks
• 4x Whetstones

Sulphur can be mined from the yellowish mineral nodes scattered around the world. The Sulphur Mine has quite a few of these nodes, so try to visit it regularly for the sake of other crafting recipes down the road. Don’t forget to process Sulphur Ore in a Furnace, or it won’t be usable.

Whetstones can be farmed at the Bandit Armory near Central Farbane Woods. Make sure to break every box and open every chest for more chances of getting them. Additionally, Whetstones can be crafted in Furnaces after Grayson the Armourer is defeated.
