Valentine’s Day 2017 Jewelry Gifts: 5 Affordable Baubles To Buy For Her
It might seem overly cliché, but receiving a sweet, thoughtful gift of jewelry for Valentine’s Day has remained a very sweet gesture.
Much of the anxiety surrounding jewelry gift-giving over Tuesday's holiday has tended to fall into one of three fears: what it means for your relationship (if you’re not already engaged or married to your partner), how much the gift will cost and whether it will align with your partner’s taste.
Yet, gifting someone a piece of jewelry does not necessarily mean you need to give your partner a ring – a beautiful, delicate necklace or a pair of gorgeous earrings will absolutely do.
In the matters of money, there were a variety of retailers and brands offering mid-range prices for great pieces. Department stores can be an excellent option, as well.
The National Retail Federation released its annual Valentine’s Day report, which revealed that when it came to the location, consumers planning on buying Valentine’s Day gifts opted for a department store (about 35 percent of those surveyed). In addition, overall spending on the holiday had dropped from last year – consumers were expected to spend, on average, about $136.57 versus $146.84 from 2016.
Price aside, it was important to be up-to-snuff on your partner’s preference when it comes to jewelry. Here are eight pieces of jewelry that won’t break the bank and will suit most – if not every – taste level.
1. A pair of maximalist earrings from Kendra Scott, resplendent with colorful stones, is perfect for a “more-is-more” kind of partner. ($195)
2. Does your partner love a good set of pearl earrings but craving something a little different? This set of pearl hook earrings from The Dreslyn by Loren Stewart are a fresh take on classic pearls. ($260)
3. For the true romantic, you can’t go wrong with a long key necklace in silver or gold from Vera Bradley. ($48)
4. Delicate, discreet jewelry is perfect for the self-proclaimed minimalists. This pair of diamond + stick earrings from Lily Ashwell are a little on the pricier side but are entirely versatile. ($398)
5. Kate Spade New York’s idiom bracelets make a great gift for those with a sense of humor. ($48)
