Despite its popularity and rave reviews, “Valheim” is still guilty of being a grindy game. The need to gather resources is inherent in all survival games, and while that gameplay mechanic is part of what makes the genre good, there will always be some players who will get tired of having to do excessive work in a video game.

Armor and ammunition are the most tedious of items to obtain because of the sheer amount of resources needed and the fact that metals cannot be teleported via the game’s Portal system. However, solo players and server admins can reduce the tedious grind by simply spawning in the materials they want if they so desire.

To do this, “Valheim” players will need to access the admin console by pressing F5 while in-game. Once it’s open, type in “imacheater” to enable cheats in the world. This will also activate the “spawn” command which spawns in items.

To use the “spawn” command, the format is: spawn [item] [amount].

For example, players who want a Wooden Arrow will type in “spawn ArrowWood” in the admin console. To spawn more than one arrow, type in the desired amount after the item name. Note that console commands are case-sensitive and will not work if the syntax is not followed.

Keep in mind that cheats will ruin the overall game experience for players. It is recommended that these spawn commands are to be used only for testing purposes. Server admins should refrain from spawning items so as not to ruin the game experience for the players in the server unless they know what they’re doing.
