"Valheim" offers a rich and mammoth-sized procedurally generated world with players spending a lot of time going from one place to another. But, there is a way players could use to cross great distances almost instantly, that is, by using portals. Here are some tips and tricks on how to craft, use and connect portals in "Valheim."
How to Build Portals
Portals allow "Valheim" players to travel faster than Odin's raven. It enables players to zip between two points easily and fast and without the need to travel on foot or by boat. To build a portal, players must have a workbench nearby. Then, they should equip a hammer and open the crafting menu and look for portals in the Miscellaneous section of the Items.
Players also need 20 fine wood, two surtling cores and ten graydwarf eyes. Players should have their portal after assembling these items. After that, they should place one portal in their home and the other in a location where they would like to warp into.
How To Connect Portals
To connect portals, it is important that players give it a tag. To do this, they should interact with the portal using E. The pane opens, and players can type their desired tag. This tag is the key for linking portals with one another. As long as two portals share the same tag, they are connected.
For instance, players can have a portal in the mountains, a different portal in the swamp and a portal at the main base. They can designate a name for the portal in the swamp, mountains, or Ashlands. To connect them with the portal at the base, players can just edit the tag at their base and make sure it corresponds to the tag on the location they want to go.
Items That Players Can Bring Through Portals
While portals are the fastest method players could use to travel in "Valheim," certain items cannot go through portals. This includes Tin ore and tin; Copper ore and copper; Bronze; Iron ore and iron; Silver ore and silver; and Black metal scrap.
