‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 5 Spoilers: Sexy New Photo Of Damon And Elena Highlights Delena Romance
Is it October yet?! “The Vampire Diaries” doesn’t premiere its fifth season until Oct. 3, but director Joshua Butler is having a blast teasing fans with behind-the-scenes photos of their favorite characters
Butler, who is also directing an upcoming episode of the hit Fox series “The Following,” was working on the second episode in season five of “The Vampire Diaries.” On Monday he sent Delena shippers (Damon and Elena fans) into a tizzy when he posted a pretty sexy photo of the pair.
“#LiveFromMysticFalls: @IanSomerhalder + @NinaDobrev = EPIC #TVD ROMACNE #Delena #TVD 5x02 #DirectorPride,” he tweeted along with the photo.
Although the shot is a little blurry, it’s easy to see that Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder’s vampire characters are finally happy – especially after a rough season four finale.
For those viewers that don’t remember, Elena finally chose what Salvatore brother she wanted to be with. Breaking Stefan’s heart, she told Damon exactly how she felt about him:
“In death you’re the one that made me feel the most alive. You’ve been a terrible person … I’m not sorry I’m in love with you. I love you, Damon.”
Season five will find Elena and Damon enjoying their relationship and as executive produce Julie Plec teased, “having hot lovin’ sex.” But like every relationship, they’ll of course encounter a couple rough patches.
“The biggest hurdles in their relationship come from external sources, people, ideas, notions that are trying to say they’re not supposed to be together,” Plec teased to Entertainment Weekly. “It’s really going to be more about them fighting to prove that they should be together and it’s okay.”
Damon and Elena aren’t going to be the only ones trying to overcome some hurdles this season. Stefan still has the whole Silas/ locked in a box underwater situation going on. Fortunately Joshua Butler was able to give “Vampire Diaries” a peak at the big bad as well.
“If a hot immortal introduces himself as Silas, watch out. #MysticFallsProblems #TVD 5x02 #DirectorPride,” he tweeted.
“The Vampire Diaries” returns to the CW for season five on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 8 p.m. What are you excited to watch unfold this season? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.
