‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 6 Spoilers: How Did Nina Dobrev And Michael Trevino Say Goodbye? Details On The Season Finale
While “Vampire Diaries” fans still have a few weeks left with Elena and Tyler, the actors who portray them are officially done. Nina Dobrev (Elena) and Michael Trevino (Tyler) said their final goodbyes on Instagram after they wrapped their last day of filming. It looks like they were still having fun on their last day. The actors seemingly inhaled some helium before recording a message for fans.
“We just want to tell the fans how much we’re gonna miss them,” Dobrev said in a high-pitched voice.
“We love you so much. Bye!” said Trevino, who also sounded like a chipmunk.
They explained that they were going to miss each other too and started hugging, which is when viewers can see Trevino holding a helium-filled balloon. “That's a wrap on Elena and Tyler. We were just kids when we started the show, and we still are, six years later,” Dobrev wrote in the caption.
Dobrev has posted tons of photos from her last days on set, but details about the episode itself have been kept top secret. While both she and Trevino are leaving “The Vampire Diaries” in the Season 6 finale, Dobrev’s departure seems much more final. Trevino's character is likely to make it out of the episode alive. “Even though he’s also going to be out in the world exploring new opportunities, we look forward to finding creative ways to make sure he and his character Tyler Lockwood always remain a part of the show,” executive producer Julie Plec said in a statement.
Tyler is getting at least somewhat of a happy ending, but no one can guarantee the same for Elena. The vampire probably will be involved in the big fight that co-star Kat Graham (Bonnie) teased. “There’s a cool, epic battle in the season finale,” Graham teased on “Big Morning Buzz.”
That big battle might involve a lot of cars. A casting call was put out for extras with automobiles, and Elena doesn’t have the best history with those. Her parents died in a car accident, and she died in a similar accident when she became a vampire. We can’t help but be suspicious when motor vehicles are involved on “The Vampire Diaries.”
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 returns to the CW on Thursday at 8 p.m. EDT. Do you think Elena and Tyler will get happy endings? Sound off in the comments section below!
