‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 6 Spoilers: Who Will Die In The Midseason Finale? Theories For Heartbreaking Christmas Episode [POLL]

UPDATE: Although Paul Wesley’s answer was posted in response to a question about the midseason finale, it seems he was actually referring to a different future episode. Fans will have to wait until 2015 to find out who is getting the axe.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 is about to kill off someone major in the midseason finale. This isn’t too surprising since the last Christmas-themed episode featured Klaus (Joseph Morgan) killing tons of people. However, fans weren’t very attached to the hybrids he killed or Tyler’s mom (Susan Walters). As previously reported, Paul Wesley teased that fans aren’t going to like the death in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6, episode 10.

"Dude, there's always deaths, there is a big one coming up, I will say that, there is a big one that's really going to break the people's hearts," Wesley told E! Online.

So who is going to bite the dust in the winter finale? We have a few guesses.

Enzo – Why is Enzo (Michael Malarkey) still around? He wanted to bring Damon (Ian Somerhalder) back, and now he’s in the land of the living again. However, he has barely interacted with Damon. He was being hunted, but he ended that storyline when he killed Tripp (Colin Ferguson). Enzo doesn’t have a real purpose in Virginia anymore besides annoy Stefan.

Matt – Realistically, it’s going to be a miracle if Matt (Zach Roerig) is alive by the end of “The Vampire Diaries.” Having so many vampire friends puts him in the line of danger often, but he doesn’t have the same defenses everyone else has. He’s a human and nothing more. He would be the easiest to kill at this point.

Luke or Liv – The twins have to merge at some point, but Luke (Chris Brochu) and Liv (Penelope Mitchell) have been avoiding their fate. Tyler (Michael Trevino) even tried to keep Liv at his house in Mystic Falls to avoid magic, but she felt that she couldn’t hide forever. However, with Kai (Chris Wood) back in the land of the living, she might not have to merge. He might kill her first.

Tyler – The former hybrid has been getting a little too involved with Liv. Tyler desperately wants to protect her, but he seems to forget that he doesn’t have hybrid powers any more. After Mystic Falls was stripped of magic, so were his powers. Being on the front lines of a magical fight might get him killed.

Jo – Kai really wants to kill his twin Jo (Jodi Lyn O’Keefe). If Kai gets her power, no one knows what he’ll do, but serial killers probably shouldn't have unlimited magical powers. It’s a worse case scenario, but things on “The Vampire Diaries” always seem to get worse before they get better. Unfortunately, her serial killer brother isn’t the only reason we think Jo might die. She also is Alaric’s (Matt Davis) girlfriend. Alaric’s significant others usually have a tragic death.
