‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Episode 13 Synopsis, Promo Video And Photos Released

Kai is back! “The Vampire Diaries” revealed the witch’s return last week, and it seems he wants to help take out Cade. Of course, doing so won’t be easy, and there will be consequences that Alaric and Damon aren’t thrilled about.

The episode 13 synopsis doesn’t reveal much: “Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Alaric (Matt Davis) come face to face with an old enemy after they obtain a weapon that may be able to destroy Cade (Wolé Parks).” Luckily, we already know more from the trailer. Kai needs their help to kill Cade. That will allow him to stay on Earth, and in exchange, he claims he’ll bring Elena (Nina Dobrev) back. Watch him make a deal in the promo video below:

Though Kai is dead, he’ll still have all the powers he died with. Chris Wood confirmed to TV Guide that he’ll be a Heretic, a vampire witch hybrid. He’ll also be strapped for time. “He thought he’s escaped and he’s going to find out pretty quickly that he’s not as fully alive and well as he had hoped,” Wood revealed. “In fact, there’s still unnatural forces pulling him back to Hell. He’s on a bit of a time limit.”

Let’s hope he finds a way to avoid that deadline. After all, fans know Elena won’t return until the series finale. Kai will have to survive for a few episodes if he is truly the only one who can bring Elena back.

While Alaric, Damon and Kai look for ways to kill Cade in “TVD” Season 8, episode 13, the devilish villain will set his sights on another Mystic Falls native. “Cade focuses his attention on Bonnie (Kat Graham) and digs deep into her mind,” the synopsis teases.

Cade has never shown an interest in the witch before, so why now? After she accidentally opened the door to hell when Enzo (Michael Malarkey) died, she likely caught Cade’s attention. She’ll have to hope he doesn’t see her as a threat.

Elsewhere, Stefan (Paul Wesley) will have trouble dealing with his humanity. “Stefan is held captive by a surprising acquaintance and is forced to confront a dark secret from his past,” the synopsis reveals. “Meanwhile, Caroline (Candice King) and Matt (Zach Roerig) try to keep Stefan’s violent history from destroying him.”

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8, episode 13 is titled “The Lies Will Catch Up to You.” It’s something Damon told Stefan in the first season. Stefan was keeping his brother locked up to protect Mystic Falls, but he told Elena that Damon skipped town.
