‘Vampire Diaries’ Season 8 Spoilers: Episode 8 Synopsis Released; What Will Happen In The Midseason Premiere? [VIDEO & PHOTOS]
“The Vampire Diaries” is returning for one last run. Friday’s midseason premiere kicks off the final stretch of episodes before the series finale, and it looks like there might be a role reversal. When the show went on hiatus, the Salvatore brothers made a deal to save Caroline and Alaric’s twins. Stefan turned off his humanity and went off with Damon to gather souls for Cade. In Season 8, episode 8, we’ll see just how evil Stefan can be.
“Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) attend an anger management support group looking for their next victim,” the episode 8 synopsis reveals. A sneak-peek video above makes it clear who their next kill is, but it also reveals that Damon is getting a little frustrated with his brother.
They’ll quickly move on from the group meeting, and their next victim might be a little harder to murder. “Stefan and Damon continue their commitment to Cade as they test the morals of a young doctor, Tara (Alexandra Chando),” the summary teases. It might not be her soul that tests their limits. They’ll likely have a hard time killing someone who looks an awful lot like Elena (Nina Dobrev).
The episode title is actually a line Elena once said. “We Have History Together” is the midseason premiere’s title and also what Elena said when she first met Stefan. History was one of many classes they had together at Mystic Falls High School. (And no, it still has not been confirmed if Dobrev will return as Elena for the series finale.)
It looks like the CW drama will return to the school too. Apparently, Damon ripping Sybil’s (Nathalie Kelley) heart out wasn’t a permanent death. She is alive and a teacher, but it isn’t because she’s wants the youth of Virginia to be educated. “Sybil is still alive and teaching a group of high school students who she’ll later use as leverage to get Caroline (Candice King) to locate a historical artifact that can be used against her,” the synopsis reveals.
As previously reported, Somerhalder directed episode 8. He decided to end the hour with a montage featuring an original song by Michael Malarkey. The Enzo actor recorded a special version of “Scars” for “TVD” and it will be available for download after the episode airs.
“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8, episode 8 airs Friday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
