‘Vampire Diaries’ Star Kat Graham Dishes About Her Favorite Sunglasses, Teases Bonnie’s Future

“Vampire Diaries” star Kat Graham is taking a break from fighting evil on the CW drama to pose for Foster Grant sunglasses. The actress and singer is Foster Grant’s latest spokesperson, following in the footsteps of Cindy Crawford, Sophia Loren and, most recently, Brooke Shields.

Triple threat Graham didn’t stop at just modeling for the campaign, though. She recorded a song exclusively for Foster Grant, called “Hollywood Life.” The upbeat track is featured in the brand’s new ad campaign (which can be seen at the bottom of this article).

Graham, 25, talked to International Business Times via email about her favorite frames and new song. She even dished a little bit about “The Vampire Diaries” Season 7 and revealed that her character Bonnie’s style isn’t so different from her own (at least when it comes to sunglasses).

International Business Times: What are your favorite sunglasses trends for this summer?

Kat Graham: My favorite sunglasses trend for summer is colored lenses! Most sunglasses are black or dark brown, but I'm loving the Foster Grants colorful ones. They are the perfect accent to finish a summer outfit.

IBTimes: Do you have a favorite pair of sunglasses by Foster Grant?

Graham: It really depends on the outfit. There are so many different pairs I really can't choose. I love the New Yorkers.

IBTimes: Some iconic people have represented Foster Grant before (Sophia Loren, Brooke Shields). Who is your style icon?

Graham: Linda Evangelista. I really love a woman with ‘90s sensibility and glamour. I always say I'm ‘90s couture.

IBTimes: You recorded a song exclusively for the Foster Grant ad campaign. What inspired the tune?

Graham: We as a group at Foster Grant discuss what sunglasses make you feel, and what we want the viewers to feel when they watch the commercial. The song is actually called “Hollywood Life.” It was inspired by heavy drums with a Sheila E-type of melody.

IBTimes: Bonnie’s style on “The Vampire Diaries” seems to be really different from your own. Which pair of sunglasses do you think she’d wear?

Graham: Funny enough, we put her in the New Yorkers for an episode of “Vampire Diaries.” Bonnie is also a bada-- right now, so I would put her in the Inquisitive pair.

IBTimes: Do you think Bonnie will get to relax in the sunshine with a pair of cool shades next year, or will she and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) find themselves in trouble? Can you give us any hints about next season’s storyline?

Graham: You'll have to wait and see! But, I'm sure she can shield her eyes from all the fire she'll start with some Foster Grants!
