Is 'Vanderpump Rules' Cancelled? Former Star Weighs In On Season 9
It ain't over until it's over -- at least that's how former "Vanderpump Rules" cast member Billie Lee feels.
Two of the show's OG cast members, Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, got the boot, as well as Season 8 newbies Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni, -- both pairs over past racially insensitive behaviors. Fans have even started to come after some of the show's other cast members, like Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, with demands they should be fired too.
With such a tumultuous week for the Bravo show and its cast, many fans were left wondering: Will "Vanderpump Rules" be canceled?
"To be honest, there are amazing people on that show that celebrate Black people and celebrate Black lives and LGBTQ people. Those people need to have more camera time — Tom (Sandoval), Ariana (Maddix), James(Kennedy) & Raquel (Leviss), Scheana (Shay)," Billie, who appeared on the series for Season 6 and 7, told HollywoodLife. "They go above and beyond for me."
In addition to the four cast members Billie mentioned, Katie Maloney, Tom Schwartz, Lala Kent, and Dayna Kathan were all featured on Season 8 as part of the main cast and could help to carry the series into Season 9 if it were to happen.
There's been no official word on whether or not "Vanderpump Rules" has been renewed for another season. With the coronavirus shutting down production on the television series back in March, the show's future was left in limbo. Now that the country is slowly getting back to normal, fans should have an answer soon when it comes to the future of the series.
The snowball effect that drastically changed the cast began when former cast member Faith Stowers opened up about her experience on the show and shared that Kristen and Stassi tried to have her arrested for a crime she didn't commit.
"There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African American lady. It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people," Faith recalled. "And they called the cops and said it was me. This is like, a true story. I heard this from actually Stassi in an interview."
"Vanderpump Rules" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo.
