‘Vanderpump Rules’ Star Scheana Shay ‘Got Pregnant So Quickly’ After Miscarriage
“Vanderpump Rules” star Scheana Shay is pregnant again following her heartbreaking miscarriage in June. The Bravo star revealed the baby news on Thursday alongside her boyfriend Brock Honey Davies.
The couple appeared in this week’s issue of People holding a positive pregnancy test and a sonogram of their baby.
Shay also shared the exciting news with her followers on Instagram. The announcement was sponsored by Clearblue pregnancy tests, meaning the brand paid the reality star to use its product.
“IT’S ALL HAPPENING APRIL 2021!!! We are expecting our rainbow baby!!! Shay wrote.
“Thank you @clearblue for giving me the most amazing news of my life! #clearbluepartner #clearblueconfirmed,” she added.
After Shay suffered a miscarriage in June, the 35-year-old admitted she was surprised by how fast she became pregnant following her devastating loss. “We got pregnant so quickly,” she explained.
“My doctor told me to wait one period and ovulation cycle, and then we could try again. It was the first and only time we tried, and I had a feeling right away, but it was so soon to tell because I wasn’t even close to missing my period yet. I just had a feeling.”
However, Shay confirmed her suspicions when she opted to take a pregnancy test before leaving for a getaway to Sedona, Arizona that would consist of high impact activities.
The reality star admitted she was “bawling [her] eyes out” after learning the test was positive. “We still had an amazing trip, but it just all happened so quickly, which is so exciting but also really scary after having a miscarriage.”
Shay revealed her experience from her miscarriage allowed her to monitor her current pregnancy more closely.
“It was comforting knowing, ‘Okay, you're not spotting, you’re not cramping, you still feel pregnant, you’re still tired, your boobs still hurt.’ I had to keep convincing myself it’s okay because last time I woke up one day and there’s no other way to explain it, just that I didn’t feel pregnant anymore,” the Bravo said.
“I told my mom that, and her heart broke because before my sister, she too had a miscarriage and the same thing — she said she just felt not pregnant one day.”
Shay admitted that her miscarriage has made her paranoid during her current pregnancy, and she even herself questioning her doctors when they give her medical advice.
Nonetheless, she admitted she is thrilled about meeting her little one and hopes women who aspire to be mothers never give up on their dream of being able to hold their baby in their arms.
“There’s so many alternative ways: Freeze your eggs, try [in vitro fertilization],” she explained.
“If that doesn’t work, there’s always adoption; there’s so many kids in foster care who need to be adopted and need homes. There’s always a way. If you truly want to be a mom, don’t give up.”
