Vanessa Hudgens Wants To Work With Woody Allen Despite Sexual Abuse Allegations
Vanessa Hudgens revealed that she has a list of directors that she dreams of working with and one of them is Woody Allen, who has been accused of sexual abuse by her daughter Dylan Farrow.
In a recent interview with the Los Angeles Times, the 30-year-old actress revealed that Allen is one of the best directors of all time and it is her dream to work with him. The former Disney star noted that she absolutely loves Allen’s movies and “Vicky Christina Barcelona” is one of her favorite movies.
“I love Woody Allen films. ‘Vicky Christina Barcelona’ is one of my favorite movies,” Hudgens said.
The other directors she mentioned on the list were Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Steven Spielberg, Gaspar Noé and Yorgos Lanthimos.
When asked about all the sexual abuse allegations that have been put on the “Midnight In Paris” helmer, the “Spring Breakers” star shared that she has never met him and only knows what she has heard about all the allegations.
But the actress kept insisting that she loves his movies and the romantic worlds that are designed in them.
“I don’t know him. I have never met him. I only know what I’ve heard. And the fact is, I love his films and I love the romantic worlds that are created with [them],” Hudgens explained.
In 2014, Allen’s daughter exposed her sexual assault charges against him, claiming that the filmmaker molested her after he and actress Mia Farrow adopted her at the age of seven. Last year, in an interview with CBS, she provided numerous details about how Allen allegedly sexually assaulted her when she was seven years old.
As soon as the allegations surfaced online, A-list stars like Colin Firth, Timothy Chalamet and Greta Gerwig shared that they regret working with the “Manhattan” director.
Meanwhile, the 84-year-old filmmaker has been denying all the claims from the beginning and was never prosecuted. Last year, Allen noted that he should be the “poster boy” of the “Me Too” movement. While speaking on an Argentine TV show “Periodismo Para Todos,” the four-time Academy Award-winning director claimed that he fully supports those trying to bring abusers to account.
