Vera Wang To Design Wedding Gown For Lady Gaga
Singer Lady Gaga has asked fashion designer Vera Wang to design her wedding dress. The acclaimed bridal designer is expected to create a one-of-a-kind gown for the pop star's big day. Along with her haute couture lines, Vera Wang has designed custom-made dresses for such celebrities as Victoria Beckham, Kim Kardashian and Mariah Carey, according to Huffington Post.
The “Bad Romance” hitmaker, 29, is marrying actor Taylor Kinney, 33, in a relaxed beach wedding this summer at her $23 million Malibu mansion. Her 88-year-old pal Tony Bennett is to attend and sing their collaboration “Cheek To Cheek.”
“She trusts Vera to create an elegant, flowy dress that will fit into her dream wedding,” said an insider, who broke the news about Gaga’s wedding gown. The couple, who got engaged on Valentine’s Day after four years of dating, have kept their wedding plans under the wraps. They have not yet confirmed a date. The couple met on the set of Gaga’s “You & I” music video, which was shot in Nebraska. In fact, Gaga wore her mother’s actual wedding gown in scenes of the racy video.
After “Chicago Fire” actor popped the question to his sweetheart, the couple celebrated her family's New York restaurant, Joanne Trattoria, along with her parents, Joseph and Cynthia Germanotta. Gaga confirmed the engagement via Instagram on Feb. 16, sharing a picture of her huge, Lorraine Schwartz designed heart-shaped diamond ring.
Gaga is known for her wild fashion choices as much as her music, but she has given herself a stylishly understated new makeover of late. The singer is now opting for ladylike, retro-inspired style with more natural look, even stepping out with her natural hair. Her stylist, Brandon Maxwell, told Fashionista: “She’s pretty in charge of everything she does. I’ve worked with a lot of other people and she definitely is one of those people who, from writing the music down to deciding what she wears during the day, everything is her vision.”
