Verizon iPad delivery halted, Apple offers $50 compensation to customers Reuters

Apple has halted the delivery of iPads for Verizon which were due to be shipped from China, according to various media reports.

The unexpected stoppage, which affects a small number of customers, was caused by a manufacturing glitch that fouled up the products' identity codes.

Earlier it was reported that Apple had recalled midway Verizon iPads shipped from China, after customers faced problems when they tried to activates a cellular connection on the device. It was found that the identity codes in some iPads were already in use on other Apple products.

9to5 Mac had reported that Apple has offered to give affected customers a $50 credit. I was offered a $50 credit or iPad accessory and told that my iPad would be rerouted back to me, it quoted a customer.
