Rivian showcased its all-electric R1T pickup truck prototype in a cool blue after previously only giving a glimpse of the vehicle with a silver exterior. The new paint option comes as a surprise as Rivian has not hinted that new colors were coming in the soon-to-be-launched pickup truck that was posted to YouTube in a video.

The new blue R1T pickup truck was seen on Rivian’s tour of North America, where it is also featuring the R1S SUV, Electrek reported. The event is reportedly only for reservation holders, allowing them to get up close and personal with the models that will end up in their driveway soon.

At the majority of the reservation holder events, Rivian brought its standard prototype, the silver R1T but for the Seattle event, the company had something new in store for customers with the blue livery and now darker exterior styling.

Other details on the R1T pickup truck include a series of battery pack options ranging from 105 to 180 kWh for a driving range of 230 to 400 plus miles on a full charge, according to the automaker. The truck is expected to have a towing option of 11,000 pounds.

Rivian is anticipated to make the R1T available late next year with a starting price tag of $69,000.

Rivian also recently received an order from Amazon for 100,000 delivery vans after the e-commerce giant invested $700 million into the company. Rivian has also received a $500 million investment from Ford for the development of an all-electric pickup truck. Cox Automotive was the latest company to invest in the electric truck maker.
