“Saturday Night Live” returned from its four-week hiatus with the March 8 episode hosted by Tesla CEO Elon Musk and with Miley Cyrus as the musical guest.

The popular sketch comedy show shared a special Mother’s Day tribute and several skits amid the buzz surrounding the show over Musk serving as host. In the days leading up to the show, some cast members voiced their objections to the tech mogul hosting.

Here are some of the notable sketches from the 18th episode of “SNL” Season 46.

Cold Open

The comedy sketch show opened up with a performance by Cyrus, who sang a tribute in honor of Mother’s Day. Cyrus did a cover of her godmother Dolly Parton’s song “Light of a Clear Blue Morning.”

Throughout the performance, cast members appeared onscreen with their mothers and shared a few jokes.

Wario

Musk played Wario from Nintendo’s Mario series, who was accused of killing the real Mario by Luigi. The two brothers were having a friendly car race when Mario wiped out after a banana peel was thrown into the road. However, Wario denied killing Mario and instead revealed that Luigi was sleeping with Mario’s wife Princess Peach, who was played by Musk’s partner Canadian musician Grimes.

Before Luigi could throw a red turtle shell to silence Wario for good, New Gov. Andrew Cuomo, played by Pete Davidson, showed up to share a message from the Italian-American Anti-Defamation League.

Monologue

During the opening monologue, Musk revealed that he was the first host with Asperger’s syndrome, “or at least the first to admit it.” Some on social media were quick to point out that Dan Ackroyd also has the disorder.

Musk went on to joke about his tweets that sometimes make headlines. “Look, I know I sometimes say or post strange things, but that’s just how my brain works,” he said.

“To anyone I’ve offended, I just want to say, I reinvented electric cars and I’m sending people to Mars in a rocket ship. Did you think I was also going to be a chill, normal dude?”

Musk also went on to poke fun at the name he and Grimes gave their son X Æ A-12. Musk joked the name was pronounced “cat running across keyboard.” Musk previously said the name was pronounced X Ash A Twelve.

Actor Keegan-Michael Key will host the next “Saturday Night Live” episode with Olivia Rodrigo as the musical guest.
