'Vikings' Comic-Con 2014: Information On SDCC Panels, Autographs, Celebs And More
Are you ready to raid Comic-Con, “Vikings” fans? Our favorite warriors and shield-maidens from the critically acclaimed History Channel series will be returning to San Diego for their second SDCC panel. Excited? You’re not the only one! Just check out how Clive Standen, the fierce and fabulous Rollo, is preparing for the convention:
But that’s not all the juicy Comic-Con news we have for fans. We’ve decided to round up everything – and we mean everything – “Vikings” fans should know before our beloved bearded and braided beauties take the SDCC stage.
When & Where?: The “History: Vikings Blood Legacy” panel, which we rated as one of the top 35 must-see events at SDCC this year, will be held Friday, from 4:45 to 5:45 p.m. PDT, in Room 6A. “Vikings” even tweeted out a map of where their panel will be held, which you can check out here.
Who’s going?: You can count on the whole Lothbrok clan showing up! Travis Fimmel (Ragnar), Katheryn Winnick (Lagertha), Clive Standen (Rollo), Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn), Michael Hirst (writer/creator) and Julian Hobbs (History VP) will all be in attendance at the 2014 SDCC.
Can I get my battle-axe signed?: Um, we strongly suggest you leave any and all weapons at home, but you could totally get an autograph during a “Vikings” fan signing at 1 p.m. before the panel. The signing will take place at 450 2nd Ave.
What can we expect at the panel?: The “Vikings” panel will not only reveal an exclusive sneak peek at the new season, but fans will also find out from the cast and crew what the gods have in store for Season 3! Can you say "spoilers"?
What’s “On the Set with Vikings”?: Glad you asked – because we’re not going to lie … it’s pretty cool. This event, which takes place Thursday through Saturday at 450 2nd Ave, will offer fans a behind-the-scenes look at “Vikings” and the opportunity to star in their very own, custom video. Total Instagram material.
When fans visit the set, they’ll be able to create a character profile and select their weapon of choice. Next, you’ll get the “Vikings” works. We’re talking hair, makeup, the whole shebang. After your fierce Viking transformation, you’ll be placed into three scenes complete with Viking ships, battles, axes and villages. Last thing you’ll have to do is share that 30-second bad boy on social media.
Anything else?: A few lucky fans who visit “On the Set” will get a limited edition “Vikings” comic book, created by Hirst, written by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco, artwork by Guiliano Piccinnino and cover art by Anthony Spray. You can also get the comic signed by Spray, Brusha and Tedesco on Saturday at 2 p.m. at 450 2nd Ave.
According to reports, the comic tells a humorous tale of Thor, Loki and other gods.
Those who attend “On the Set” will also get an exclusive “Vikings” SDCC drinking horn, which you can bring to La Puerta for half off drafts and free chips.
