Comic-Con 2014: 35 Panels You Won't Want To Miss At SDCC
It’s that time of year again, Comic-Con fans, when TV-loving, cinematic-adventuring, comic book-reading devotees prepare for four fun-filled days at San Diego’s entertainment convention. And to help fans prepare for the one of the most anticipated events of the summer, we’ve decided to round up 35 of the most “must-see” panels taking place at the 2014 SDCC. Are you ready to be entertained?

Thursday:
“24” (10–11 a.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Make sure you set your clocks now because in just a few hours Jack will be back for more action at the 2014 SDCC. Now is your chance to ask Kiefer Sutherland all your tip-of-the-tongue questions about the eight-season series, as well as executive producer Jon Cassar during an exciting Q&A. Sutherland will also celebrate 24 of the most iconic moments and highlights from the show’s return in “24: Live Another Day” in addition to giving fans an exclusive peek at the anticipated Blu-ray and DVD featurette, “Worlds Collide.” Seriously, and we thought Jack Bauer had his hands full.
“Legends of TV Land” (10:30–11:30 a.m. PDT) Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront – Betty White will make her legendary debut along with other stars at this panel. Attendees will be able to ask their favorite actors questions from inquiries about their work to what holding the title of “legend” means to them. A special screening of TV Land’s original sitcom, “Hot in Cleveland,” will be aired prior to the show's premiere on July 30.
“Behind the Music: Crime, Death and Resurrection” (10:30–11:30 a.m. PDT) Room 4 – Ever wonder who created the theme song for “American Horror Story” or who was in charge of picking the super creepy music for “Dexter”? Well then, this is the panel for you. This music panel will feature composers that create the music to some of your favorite shows and movies. We’re talking about James Levine ("American Horror Story"), Jeff Russo ("Fargo"), Daniel Licht ("Dexter"), Brian Reitzell ("Hannibal," "30 Days of Night"), Steve Jablonsky ("Transformers: Age of Extinction," "Lone ‘Survivor," "Ender's Game") and Christopher Young ("Deliver Us From Evil," "Dominion," "SpiderMan 3"). They’ll share how they chose the music that makes you jump from your seat and fans will even walk away with “exclusive” gifts!
“Godzilla and The Master of Monsters” (11 a.m. – noon PDT) Room 23ABC – Finally fans will get an exclusive look at Godzilla from the perspective of the monster-masterminds themselves. August Ragone ("Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters"), David E. Chapple ("Famous Monsters of Filmland"), and Arian Hinojosa ("Monster Attack Team") will explain how the original Godzilla films were made and inspired.
“Under the Dome: Panel and Exclusive Sneak Preview” (11:15 a.m.–noon PDT) Ballroom 20 – Get the chance to chat with your favorite characters from the CBS TV series based on Stephen King’s novel. Attendees will get an exclusive look at what’s to come in the remainder of Season 2 as well as listen in on a panel discussion with the cast: Mike Vogel, Dean Norris, Rachelle Leferve, Alexander Koch, Colin Ford, Mackenzie Lintz and EP Neal Baer.
“Toy Story That Time Forgot” (11:15 a.m.–12:15 p.m. PDT) Room 6A - The toys are back! Reunite with Andy’s favorite playtime figures and get a first look at the holiday special, “Toy Story That Time Forgot.”
“TNT’s ‘Legends’ Screening & Panel” (12:30–1:30 p.m. PDT) Room 6A – Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones”) is back – and this time he’ll keep his head in the new TNT series, “Legends.” Attendees will get a look at the first episode along with an opportunity to hear about the remainder of the show’s exciting, first season.
“Reign: Panel & Exclusive Sneak Preview” (1:15–2 p.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Attendees will get an exclusive peek at what’s to come in Season 2 along with a chance to talk to the show’s cast: Adelaide Kane, Megan Follows, Toby Regbo and EP Laurie McCarthy.
“The Giver” (1:30–2:30 p.m. PDT) Hall H – After 20 years of in the making, fans of the iconic novel we all remember reading in middle school will finally be debuting on the silver screen. But lucky for SDCC attendees, those at “The Giver” panel will get to watch exclusive footage from the coming film with Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites, Odeya Rush, director Phillip Noyce and author Lois Lowry.
“Teen Wolf” (3:30–4:30 p.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Ready for a howling-good panel? Jeff Davis, creator of the hit MTV series, will sit down with his pack of “Teen Wolf” stars (Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Shelley Hennig and Dylan Sprayberry) to dish Season 4 secrets and debut a new mid-season trailer.
“George R.R. Martin Discussion In The House of the Worm” (4–5 p.m. PDT) Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront – Spend an hour with your favorite author to discuss Martin’s novels, projects and new comic book series. We hope he’s wearing his iconic cap!
“Skybound’s The Walking Dead” (4:15–5:15 p.m. PDT) Room 6A – Now’s your chance to pick the mind of “The Walking Dead” creator, Robert Kirkman, along with the comic’s artist, Charlie Adlard.
“Witches of East End” (5:45–6:45 p.m. PDT) Room 6DE – Hang out with your favorite witches and warlocks as the cast and crew of the hit Lifetime series puts a spell on you with an exclusive look at Season 2. Fans will also be able to ask question after the screening with an audience Q&A.
“Freddy vs. Jason vs. Michael: Inside the Minds of Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees and Michael Myers” (8–9 p.m. PDT) Room 7AB – This panel is sure to leave you with nightmares after cinema’s most chilling killers are analyzed. Who do you think is the most dangerous murderer? Find out here!
Friday:
“Inside The Big Bang Theory Writers’ Room” (10–11 a.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Bazinga! The gang is back once again to talk all things science and comedy during their panel.
“Star Wars Origami” (10–11 a.m. PDT) Room 7AB – Watch Origami master Chris Alexander demonstrate how to fold “Star Wars” origami figures. Talk about out of this world!
“Cartoon Network: Adventure Time” (11 a.m.–noon PDT) Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront – Finn, Jake and the Ice King are back and ready to get adventurous at the 2014 SDCC. Chat with your favorite characters and watch never-before-seen footage from your favorite Cartoon Network series.
“iZombie Pilot Screening and Q&A” (11:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. PDT) Room 6BCF – Zombie-lovers will get a chance to watch a special video presentation of “iZombie” followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew. Do you have what it takes to survive this panel?
“AMC’s The Walking Dead” (12:20–1:20 p.m. PDT) Hall H – Attendees will get to watch their favorite “Walking Dead” characters talk about the shocking Season 4 finale in addition to getting a taste at what to expect come Season 5, which debuts this fall on AMC.
“Game of Thrones Panel and Q&A” (1:40–2:40 p.m. PDT) Hall H – Curious what it was like for Pedro Pascal to get his face crushed by the Mountain during “Game of Thrones”? Well, now is your chance! Ask your favorite “GoT” stars all your aching questions during the Q&A panel at SDCC.
“A&E Bates Motel” (3:30–4:30 p.m. PDT) Room 6A – Things are bound to get creepy during this exciting panel. Fans will get to talk to the cast and crew about what to expect in Season 3 of the creepy series, returning in 2015.
“Bob’s Burger” (4–5 p.m. PDT) Indigo Ballroom, Hilton San Diego Bayfront – Have a laugh with your favorite characters and watch never-before-seen footage of “Bob’s Burgers.” Fans will then be able to ask question during a Q&A panel discussion.
“History: Vikings Blood Legacy” (4:45–5:45 p.m. PDT) Room 6A – Get ready to raid SDCC with your favorite Vikings during this panel. Fans will not only get a sneak peek at the new season but they’ll also be able to ask the old gods and new what “Vikings” have in store for Season 3.
“Sleepy Hollow” (5:45–6:45 p.m. PDT) Room 6BCF – If you craving drama that’ll leave you headless than this is the right panel for you! Fans will get an exclusive look at Season 2 along with a chance to ask the cast and crew questions about the upcoming installment during a Q&A.
Saturday:
“The Simpsons” (10–10:45 a.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Celebrate the 25th anniversary of “The Simpsons” with the creator and EP.
“Once Upon a Time” (11–11:45 a.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Your favorite fairytale is freezing over! Get the scoop on the “Frozen” twist to your favorite ABC series and discuss the upcoming season with the cast and crew of “OUAT.”
“Family Guy” (1–1:45 p.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Watch an exclusive sneak peek at the mashup of your favorite cartoons in this historic “Family Guy/The Simpsons” crossover.
“Robert Kirkman Presents Skybound Entertainment Featuring Norman Reedus” (3–4 p.m. PDT) Room 6A – Can you imagine Norman Reedus donning anything else besides a cutoff shirt and a bow and arrow? We couldn’t either but now fans will get the chance to see Reedus in a whole new light during this panel when a never-before-seen teaser of Skybound’s first feature film, “AIR,” is released.
“The Vampire Diaries Special Video Presentation and Q&A” (4–4:45 p.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – Sink your teeth into this panel for a “Vampire Diaries” video screening and Q&A with the cast and crew.
“Entertainment Weekly: Women Who Kick Ass” (4:10–5:10 p.m. PDT) Hall H – Get your fill of powerful women when Maisie Williams (“Game of Thrones”), Tatiana Maslany (“Orphan Black”), Katey Sagal (“Sons of Anarchy”), Natalie Dormer (“Game of Thrones”) and Nicole Beharie (“Sleepy Hollow”) open up during this SDCC panel about the playing characters who “redefine the rules and refuse to yield.”
“True Blood Panel and Q&A” (5–6:15 p.m. PDT) Ballroom 20 – With the final season coming to an end, now is the time to ask your favorite characters your longing questions. Rumor also has it Alcide will rise from the dead to appear at this panel. Now that’s something to howl about.
“American Horror Story: Coven” (7–8 p.m. PDT) Room 6DE – Fans will get a look back on the witchy Season 3 in addition to finding out Season 4 secrets from none other than Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Michael Chiklis, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Emma Roberts.
Sunday:
“Sons of Anarchy” (12:30–1:30 p.m. PDT) Hall H – Fans will prepare for Season 7 anarchy by getting an inside look to the final season of the FX series.
“The Strain” (1:45–3:45 p.m. PDT) Hall H – Get a creepy sneak peek at the third episode of the new FX series and join creators Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan (and with the cast) for a discussion of Season 1.
“Buffy the Musical: Once More with Feeling” (3:30–5 p.m. PDT) Room 6BCF – Calling all “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” fans! If you ever wondered what killing vampires while simultaneously singing would look like – here’s your chance!
