A few days ago, many netizens were touched by the story of a thirsty squirrel begging a passerby for a drink of water. Now a video of a deadly cobra being offered water from a bottle by a man has gone viral after the amusing clip was shared online.
The popular short video clip featuring the king cobra was filmed almost three years ago and it rose in popularity yet again after Indian Forest Service official Susanta Nanda shared it on Twitter Tuesday.
In the video, one can see the brave forest officer squatting in front of the cobra while holding a plastic water bottle in his hand. The man gently moves the bottle near the snake and the evidently thirsty reptile drinks from the bottle quickly. The officer, who does not have protective gear on, even lowers his head to direct the cobra to do the same thing so he can easily drink water.
"Love & water... Two best ingredients of life," Nanda wrote in the caption of the video.
The clip has raked in over 3 million views on Twitter, drawing thousands of internet users to its comment section to leave positive comments.
Many users praised the official for his incredible display of courage. "Courage and Compassion in action," a user wrote in the comment section. "Wow - really fantastic," said another.
The video was first shared by Twitter user Awanish Sharan in 2020, and it garnered 9 million views back then.
In another similar video that surfaced in 2017, Indian Forest Service officials can be seen helping a 12-foot-long cobra drink water from a plastic water bottle after the snake slithers out of its hiding in a frantic search for water in Kaiga Village in the southern Indian state of Karnataka.
The village had reportedly been experiencing a huge water crisis as it entered its third consecutive year of drought. Meanwhile, the enormous reptile was taken to a nearby animal shelter after drinking to its satisfaction.
